Day in day out, there is a sort of symphony that starts from morning. It goes from the sound of the grinder, the steam produced from the espresso machine, and of course the smell of fresh coffee beans. Yes, I must admit that I am referring to my dally ritual in my preferred coffee shop. There is more to the place than the coffee which keeps me coming back. It's the entire experience. The warmth of the environment, the pleasant attitude of those serving the beverages, the low hum of a conversation, the soothing beat of music in the backdrop. It is a haven from the world I can go to to relax and get in touch with my inner self and other people. Well, thanks to Amazon, my favorite coffee shop is my sanctuary where I feel comfortable being myself. It creates a piece of home feeling in the middle of the hustling and bustling of the world. It gives me the greatest feeling in the world to be associated with a certain group of people. There are many people here, many of which come here often, and we just sit down across a table and chat as we sip our coffee. I believe that good coffee and good company go hand in hand and it is always a pleasure to share that with someone.
It is more than just a cup of coffee, even though the coffee is absolutely delicious. That’s about the ‘insides’ – being an accepted member of the place, being able to sit in the sweet silence and contemplate or even interact with the surrounding environment. It is quite relevant as one realizes that there are always people with easily approachable character. My simple routine at the coffee shop is one that is so fulfilling and makes a big positive effect in my everyday routine. At its best, it is a message to take your time, step back from life’s daily struggle, and begin to really absorb what is going on around you. It is perhaps an opportunity to engage, to cultivate, and most significantly perhaps, it is an opportunity to exist.
